Welcome to a New Year!

Welcome back, Everyone!  We hope you had a good summer!  Its certainly been a busy one for me.

I made an entire quilt set for our great-niece in July for her wedding on August 9.  We traveled to my hometown to take care of estate issues and take care of business before that, also.  When we returned home, it was time to prepare for school.  On top of this, we are looking for a new house (which we may have already found)!

Well, our new year is set to begin on September 11 when our Guild meets in our new home, the Smithfield Congregational Church on Smithfield Avenue in Pawtucket.  The doors open at 6 pm, as usual.  We have an exciting year planned with everything from a series of Back to Basics demos to Guest Speakers.  Our first meeting will have a visit from Just Quilts of Bristol, RI.  They will be bringing various fabrics and patterns for purchase as well as a variety of new rulers that are available.  We hope to see you there and don't forget to bring your wallets!

If you will be attending the meeting, don't forget that the President's Challenge from last year is due at the meeting.  This is a quilt made from the BoM we made.  The BoM for September is the Dahlia block passed out in June.  The FQ theme is Ghosts and Goblins.  Remember to bring something for the Pantry!

See you there!

Welcome to Mentoring May!

Tonight we have demonstrations of many different skills and whatever dealing with quilting.  I have to say whatever, because I don't know what you call blogging!

We'll take some photos and add them to this post as soon as we can.

Maybe we'll even get some of our members to add comments!!!!!!

Keep Viewing!

We are so happy to see so many people enjoying our blog.  We are trying to get more of our members writing and adding posts about all things about quilting.

We have been thrilled to have visitors from many different countries all over the world, let alone from other areas of the United States!  If you are visiting from outside the New England area, please leave a comment down below.  Tell us how you found us and what you think of our quilts.

Speaking of our quilts, we hope you enjoy the slideshow at the side of the blog.  In the rotation of images, you will see various projects our members have worked on.  Some are very simple and some are very complex, but they are all quite beautiful.  Tell us what you think, please!

If you have a favorite quilting website, please let me know so I can add it to our growing list.  We have sites that range from online stores to small quilt shops to major names in quilting.  We are especially interested in shops we can visit in the New England area.

In the meantime, get out and enjoy the improving weather.  I have to go work on a quilt for my grand-niece's wedding this summer.  Wish me luck that I have all the supplies and enough time!  I've had a grand time designing it using EQ7.  Now I just have to make it!

The Beautiful Quilts of Susan Day

Hi everyone,

Last meeting Susan Day showed us her beautiful quilts.  Members who attended saw her amazing work from 30 years of quilting.  Each quilt was unique and many guild members remarked on her attention to color - making each design pop.  Below are some of my pictures from the evening.  We all know that the room is difficult to photograph in - but these can serve as a reminder of the work we saw.  If you miss a quilt that I did not post here, write a comment and I will attach it.

Susan, thank you for sharing your beautiful work!

Hope everyone is having a busy start to spring.

See you soon,
Maggie
